Tiptree and Stanway get a Priti Police Patrol
Local MP Priti Patel recently joined local policing teams in Tiptree and Stanway to discuss policing in her constituency.
She joined Colchester District Commander Colin Cox and Inspector Jenna Mirrington-French in her role as the Community Policing Inspector as part of their series of local inspector tours of the North East Essex policing district. Under the Police Uplift Programme led by Priti as Home Secretary to recruit 20,000 new officers, Essex has benefitted from more than 900 new police officers for Essex which is paying dividends with a greater police presence across local communities. The Colchester City area is also supported by a number of special constables, and several parishes including Tiptree & Stanway have joined the community special constable scheme whereby a dedicated special constable sponsored by the parish council.
The meeting also provided an opportunity on their local policing initiatives in line with the Chief Constables plan for the Essex Force.
Priti said: “It was a pleasure to join both Inspector Mirrington-French and Chief Inspector Cox to discuss policing in both Tiptree & Stanway. It is important that the police have a visible presence in our local communities, and their work is delivering results such as with the recent impact of speed watch patrols outside of schools like Tiptree Heath.”
