Priti Patel MP tours new Provide medical facility
The Witham MP, Priti Patel has been given a tour of the Crouch Vale Medical Centre in South Woodham Ferrers. She called in on Friday (16th July) to see the Centre, which opened in December 2019, and brings together Provide and three local GPs and includes Specialist ENT & Audiology services, Paediatrics, Speech and language therapy, Cardiac rehabilitation, Community nursing and other external providers. Services from this new facility are offered to all residents of Mid-Essex.
Priti, commenting after her tour, said: “It was important for me to see the new facility at first hand, knowing that Witham residents are now attending there or were receiving their services via virtual conferencing. The new facilities are impressive and I was pleased to meet some of the staff who are working with and helping my constituents. The first eighteen months that the Centre has been open has been a difficult one time with the issues that arose due to the Covid-19 lockdowns but it was good to see that the Centre is up and running.”
Derrick Louis, Chairman of Provide, said: “We were delighted to show Priti around the new medical centre. Working with our colleagues from the Mid-Essex CCG, we have been able to bring our services and those of the local GP Practices under one roof. This has helped to improve the efficiency of our operations and, having state of the art facilities, helps a great deal with patients, including those from Witham, who are now benefiting from more integrated services. The pandemic presented us with some serious challenges but thanks to our hard-working staff, we have been able to adapt and recommence services in a safe environment for both patients and staff.
