Soapbox supercar superstars welcome local MP
Witham MP, Priti Patel, recently visited Tecniq in Witham, a local business which is an international enterprise which works with some of the best known luxury and high-performance names in the motor world.
The business was originally established as Automotive Design Partnership by leading automotive engineer Nigel Lempriere in 1999. Specialising in high value products for some of the world’s most sought after vehicles. After reading about Tecniq’s fantastic work with their apprentices, and their recent success in the Colchester Soapbox Rally, Priti was keen to visit the Witham based business to see the industry leading work that they do.
During the visit and tour of their base on the Eastways Industrial estate, Priti spoke to the CEO Nigel Lempriere and Managing Director Paul Martin about how improvements to the apprenticeship levy, an issue Priti has consistently campaigned on, would help to increase the volume of apprentices, and securing high skilled careers for local young people.
Priti said: “It was a real pleasure to visit Tecniq to see the incredible work they do. To have such a world leading company in the heart of Witham is a testament to the high skilled professionals and apprentices we have in our local area. It was helpful to listen to Nigel and Paul to see how we can work together to see more young local people taking apprenticeships, delivering high skilled professions and careers, which companies like Tecniq provide.”
Nigel Lempriere, CEO, TECNIQ Ltd said: “It was a pleasure to welcome the Rt Hon Priti Patel to TECNIQ to our Witham campus. Our shared passion for STEM skills and early-stage career development was the perfect introduction as she met apprentices and trainees during her tour across the business. It was great for Priti to see first-hand how our apprentices contribute to the creative design, engineering and hi-tech manufacturing that goes into hypercar development for some of the world’s leading luxury car brands.”
