Priti celebrates contactless travel to Stansted Airport
The MP for Witham, Priti Patel, has welcomed the announcement that passengers travelling to Stansted Airport on the Stansted Express can now use contactless payment to travel. From next year, passengers will be able to use the tap of their phone to travel to and from the airport, something Priti has lobbied the Government to roll out for many years.
Priti said: “This is excellent news for passengers, tourists, the airport and its staff. Contactless payments make it easier for many people to travel and will help to encourage more travellers to use Stansted Airport. This in turn supports local jobs and businesses in and around the airport, across Essex and East Anglia. I am pleased that the Department for Transport and the Treasury have listened to my calls on this which will help to unlock more investment, jobs and growth at Stansted and across the region.”
