Priti calls in to meet the alpacas
The MP for Witham, Priti Patel, has paid a weekend visit to Stantons Farm Alpacas on Witham Road in Black Notley, alongside local County Councillor Ross Playle, who suggested the visit. She had not been to the farm before and took time out to meet Gareth & Petrina Tungatt, the Farm’s owners and Farm Manager Jessica Roots. She also spent some time with the alpacas themselves, including helping with feeding them.
The 15 acre Stantons Farm specialises in raising alpacas for pets, fleeces and breeding services for customers who own their herds and want to expand them. They also encourage educational visits from schools and clubs. Visitors can enjoy a special walk around the farm with an alpaca for company. The Farm is currently home to more than 30 Alpacas and 7 goats and continues to expand the variety of animals in the hope of opening to the public as a petting farm in 2023.
Commenting about her visit, Priti said: “I very much enjoyed meeting Gareth, Petrina and Jess and, of course, the alpacas. Stantons Farm is a very good tourist attraction with an appeal that is a bit different. I wish them every success with their future plans for growing the business.”
Gareth Tungatt, the Farm’s owner said: “We greatly appreciated Priti taking the time out of her busy schedule to pay us a visit and we very much enjoyed giving her a tour of our Farm and introducing her to the animals.”
