Witham’s MP, Priti Patel has called in to Eastlight Community Homes’ HQ near Braintree Village for a catch-up meeting with the community housing association’s CEO, Emma Palmer.  Eastlight, which owns some 3,700 homes in the Witham constituency and more than 12,500 in the East of England, plays a major role in working to bring local communities, volunteers and key stakeholders together.

During their meeting on 4th November, Ms Palmer gave Priti an update on their latest work in Witham and in particular the progress being made by Eastlight’s All In community programme, which involves groups of local residents working on key issues affecting the community and coming up with solutions.  They also discussed Eastlight’s work to decarbonise its homes and its sustainability strategy.

Following her visit, Priti said: “It was great to catch-up with Emma and hear all about the excellent work they are doing in bringing communities together and tackling the issues that really do affect local people. I recently met with the Witham All In entrepreneurs who are tackling social isolation and was impressed with their innovative thinking and determination to make a difference.  They have my full support.”

Emma Palmer, CEO of Eastlight Community Homes said: “It is always a pleasure to see Priti and we enjoyed bringing her up to date on our latest news and everything we are doing in Witham and the East of England.  Priti’s support and her continued interest in our work are greatly appreciated.  Good communications with key local stakeholders is essential for us.”
