Local apprenticeships in Witham praised by Secretary of State in Parliament
Witham MP Priti Patel has spoken in support of local apprentices and thanked businesses who attended her Careers Fair last month during questions to the Secretary of State for Education in the House of Commons on the 17th April 2023. In reply, the Secretary of State Rt Hon Gillian Keegan MP, praised businesses in Essex who are recruiting apprenticeships, including Stansted Airport, Rose Construction and Simarco.
Priti said: “Apprenticeships offer a great opportunity for young people to start their careers and to earn and learn at the same time. Thousands of local residents have already benefited from starting apprenticeships since 2010 and it is important that we keep on promoting these opportunities and thank those businesses who take on apprentices.”
“Last month hundreds of school pupils attended the careers fair I organised, which was supported by over 20 employers, and I was delighted to see the Secretary of State welcoming and praising all those businesses who attended and were offering apprenticeships.”
