MP and community come together to tackle mess on Templars
Witham MP Priti Patel has visited the Templars Estate in Witham, alongside members of the Templars Community Association (TCA), to discuss the maintenance and estate management issues.
During the visit, Priti and members of the TCA walked around the estate as an opportunity to highlight the ongoing issues with Eastlight and their maintenance of the estate, as the TCA feel that the estate has been very neglected over the last few years and many issues are never resolved. Priti has raised a number of these issues consistently with Eastlight, although the responses received thus far are yet to address the work required and the TCA are not confident that the issues will actually be resolved.
After her visit Priti said: “The ongoing issues on the Templars estate must be rectified in a timely way and Eastlight have yet to fix issues such as the garages which are in disrepair, hazardous pathways and the unkemptness of the estate. Residents in Templars deserve better, and I pay tribute Louise Howard and the Templars Community Association for their persistence and resolve to ensure their community is looked after properly.
Maintenance of the estate is lacking and Eastlight have a duty to fix the issues that fall within their remit, which presently they are not rectifying in a timely way. I will continue to make representations on behalf of my constituents until residents in Templars are receiving the service they deserve.”
