Witham MP supports local firm with export issues
The MP for Witham Priti Patel has recently met with Martin Chudleigh (Director, Dalebrook Supplies) Leslie Linch (Chairman) of Dalebrook Supplies and Aaron Linch, (Director), a Witham based business who are world leaders in the design and manufacture of melamine food display solutions.
Mr Chudleigh contacted Ms Patel as well as the Essex Chambers of Commerce for support and assistance with issues exporting their goods into Europe with particular issues with a specific port which continually delays the customs clearances of their goods.
This situation is causing serious problems for the business, adding considerable lead time for the businesses EU customers and blocking sales, particularly as Dalebrook Supplies currently have three 40 ft containers representing two months’ turnover stuck in transit. These delays are not only threatening their revenue but also straining their relationships with European customers.
Speaking after the meeting Priti said: “I was delighted to meet with Martin, Leslie, Aaron and the team at Dalebrook Supplies in Witham. Dalebrook Supplies is a world leading business, with a first-class reputation for the products they designed and supply and we are fortunate to have them based in Witham. I am making representations to the relevant Government Ministers here in the UK on their work with Dutch counterparts to ensure that the flow of goods between our two countries does not experience delays.”
Martin Chudleigh (Director, Dalebrook Supplies) said: “Our meeting with Priti Patel was extremely productive. Her understanding of our challenges highlights the importance of collaboration in overcoming export difficulties. We are committed to delivering quality products to our European customers, and her support will be instrumental in addressing the current delays.”
