Priti Patel gives her support to the Royal British Legion’s annual Witham Poppy Appeal
Priti Patel, the MP for Witham, has given her support to the Royal British Legion’s 2022 Poppy Appeal in Witham. Priti visited volunteers from the Legion at the Memorial Hall in Newland Street on Friday 4th November, to give the annual Poppy Appeal a boost with her own donation. She gave the RBL a cheque for £500, to help them kick off this year’s appeal.
At a special presentation at the Memorial Hall, Priti presented her cheque to Bob Barker, the Vice-Chairman of the Witham Royal British Legion and Frank Zada, the Poppy Appeal Organiser.
Priti, a long-term supporter and member of the Witham RBL, said: “The Legion in Witham is a marvellous organisation which raises a remarkable amount of money every year to support those who have served their country in the armed forces. I am delighted to be able to support the Legion and their volunteers at the start of this important appeal. I am sure that this will be another year when the people of Witham will, once again, come together to show their support for our armed forces past and present.”
