Priti congratulates Suffolk & North-East Essex ICB on booster rollout
Priti Patel, the Member of Parliament for Witham, has written to congratulate staff at NHS Suffolk and North-East Essex ICB for being ranked number one nationally for the Covid-19 Autumn booster rollout campaign.
It is expected that many respiratory infections, including COVID-19 and flu may be circulating at high levels this Winter, leading to the potential for increased pressure on hospitals and other health care services.
People aged 50 years and older, residents in care homes for older people, those aged 5 years and over in a clinical risk group and health and social care staff are therefore being offered a booster vaccine this autumn, which should help to reduce the risk of being admitted to hospital with COVID-19.
Further information on the booster rollout this autumn is available on the NHS website: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-vaccination-autumn-booster-resources/a-guide-to-the-covid-19-autumn-booster
Priti said: “It is fantastic to hear of the significant progress staff in the Suffolk and North-East Essex area have already made in delivering these booster jabs. I would like to extend my congratulations to them for all their hard work, which has resulted in the area being ranked as number one nationally.
“This roll-out builds on the team’s previous success with the initial vaccination campaign, where again the area was ranked within the top three performers for delivery of Covid vaccinations.”
