New Essex Police Local Area Commander meets up with Witham MP
Witham MP, Priti Patel, has met Essex Police’s new North Local Area Commander, Chief Superintendent Claire Talbot. Chief Superintendent Talbot, based in Braintree, took up her new appointment very recently and asked for an introductory meeting with Priti, which took place in central Witham on Saturday.
They had a full discussion about the main policing issues and priorities in Witham, with particular focus on burglaries and anti-social behaviour. Priti also suggested various local organisations that would benefit from closer co-operation with Essex Police.
Commenting after the meeting, Priti said: “It was a very useful meeting and I am pleased that we were able to get together so soon after Chief Superintendent Talbot’s appointment. It is important for my constituency office to liaise closely with Essex Police and I am sure that will happen even more effectively in the future.”
Chief Superintendent, Claire Talbot, the new North Local Area Commander said: “It was a pleasure to meet Priti and talk through my plans and priorities. Her support and encouragement are much appreciated. In the interests of effective policing, It is important for my team and I to work closely with key stakeholders in the local community.”
