Priti Patel MP boosts small businesses in Witham and Coggeshall
The Witham MP, Priti Patel, has spent Friday morning, (6th September) in her constituency visiting small businesses. She performed a formal opening ceremony for two new shops in Witham, Gelato Temptations in Newlands Street, which is a brand new business providing the ultimate in tasty deserts, and christened the new premises in Crittall Place, opened by Personalise, who specialise in high quality personalised embroidery and printing on most forms of merchandise.
She was also present at the Community Hub in the Newlands Centre when a representative from the White Hart public house, Coggeshall presented them with a large cheque towards their ongoing running costs and for the announcement that a similar Community Hub facility is going to be opening soon, in Coggeshall.
Priti went on to Coggeshall, where she joined in the first birthday celebrations of the Parfait Visage Hair & Beauty Salon on Double Day Corner before visiting the Salon on East Street to congratulate them on winning several hairdressing awards.
Commenting after the visit, Priti said: “It is always a pleasure to visit small businesses in my constituency. They are the lifeblood of our economy and will always have my full support. I was very pleased to launch Gelato Temptations and Personalise, in their new premises. I wish them every success in the future. It was also pleasing to share in the first birthday of the Parfait Salon, which is clearly a growing business and to hear of the award-winning successes of The Salon.”
Tina Townsend, Chair of the Witham Chamber of Commerce, who organised the programme for the day, said: “We are very grateful to Priti for finding the time out of her busy schedule to support and encourage small businesses in Witham and Coggeshall. She has been a strong supporter of local business and entrepreneurship for many years and clearly recognises their importance both to the local and national economy.”
