Working group gets down to business in discussions about the new Witham Health Centre
Witham’s MP, Priti Patel has taken part in a major planning session for the forthcoming Witham Health Centre. The workshop, organised by the Mid-Essex Clinical Commissioning Group, took place on 10th May at the Essex Fire & Rescue Service HQ at Kelvedon Park, Rivenhall and was attended by representatives from all the key stakeholders in the project including GP practices from Witham.
The workshop opened with an overview of the progress made so far, from Kerry Harding, the Director of Estates at the Mid-Essex CCG with discussion of the key issues including a factual analysis of patient demand which supports the for the new multi- purpose Health Centre.
Commenting after the session, Priti Patel MP said: “I made the case for a new multi-purpose Health Centre in Witham almost 7 years ago and have worked hard with the Government and the local NHS to advance the case to the stage where we are now holding detailed discussion about the site and a wide range of potential services. Witham needs a new health facility to meet growing patient demand and bring new health services into the Town. There was unanimous agreement at the meeting to move this project forward and the CCG and GPs are determined to put patient needs first and work together to deliver this.”
A series of future meetings are planned to keep the project moving forward.
