WWF’s Earth Hour is the world’s biggest movement to protect our planet
WWF’s Earth Hour is the world’s biggest movement to protect our planet. Every year hundreds of millions of communities, businesses and landmarks take part in our big switch-off events across the globe.
In support of Earth Hour Priti said ‘We are facing a number of environmental threats that are harming the wildlife we love through the effects of the changing environment, pollution and over-consumption. Over the last 25 – 30 years 80% of freshwater species have declined, over 50% of populations of land species have declined, 40% of forests have disappeared and 1 in 6 of the planet’s species are at risk of extinction from environmental changes. In the wake of the Government’s 25 Year Environment Plan, we should all do more to promote healthy oceans, climate action, sustainable development and restoring nature.”
